Surface Hardening
1. Heating for the purpose of achieving full hardness of metal in a shallow depth along the surface of the processed area. The hardened surface provides the basis for a wear surface while leaving the body of the component soft.
Brazing
2. Joining of two or more items using a melted high temperature soldering material. The objects to be joined together and the braze material are both heated using high frequency induction.
Forging
3. Heating of a material to change the shape. A typical application is tube heating to form a raw forging for machining to a final component.
